They say that for every Wal-Mart opened, two grocery stores close. Wal-Mart has a policy of opening stores in rural or suburban areas. Most of the people I know who shop regularly at Wal-Mart tend to have a conservative slant on politics.
If Wal-Mart is supplying all the needs of a community from underwear to milk, from house paint to fishing lures, does that make Wal-Mart socialistic? After protesting against the current administration, health care reform, and the “socialist” agenda, how many people go to Wal-Mart to buy fish sticks, shampoo, and a lovely plant for their back yard? How much money leaves a community and goes to Bentonville, AK filling the pockets of one of the richest families in the United States?
If you really want to protest socialism and want to maintain your own individual rights, why not start locally by shopping locally. Keep your local butcher (if you even have one) in business by getting your ground beef from him.
