We get it – health care in the U.S. is awesome.  People from all over the world, government officials, the wealthy, and the Yakuza come to the United States for our excellent heath care. We get it.

It’s the system that’s broken though and needs the reform.  No one (that I’m aware of) is advocating changing the quality that American hospitals and doctors provide.  The change needs to happen at the systemic level.

Why should Americans who can’t afford health care not be able to get it?  Why should an employee have to pay for insurance to ensure medical bills will be paid after a given deductible is met?   Why can’t that cost be included in taxes just like the cost of police and firemen?

It’s counter productive for an insurance company to pay for your medical expenses.  It behooves them to put up as many obstacles as they can, keep the cost of health care high, and monopolize the health care market.

Do you really trust an insurance company to manage your health?
